3.9: Organic Certification Guidelines
According to USDA regulations, all producers and processors that wish to market their products as "organic," "made from organic ingredients," etc., must be certified by a federally-accredited agent. Production and processing operations that sell less than $5000 of organic products per year are exempt from certification, but must still abide by organic handling guidelines.
AMS National Organic Program
Creates standards for organic certification; maintains a list of accredited certifiers.
