New Chainsaw Safety Training Announced

In April 2017, L & E Stover Enterprises will hold their first SawBOSS course and will teach 8 participants the most effective chainsaw safety skills, provide teaching materials and instructional approaches, and certify instructors for 3 years.
NIFA Grants Focus on Youth Farm Safety and Agricultural Careers for People with Disabilities

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) today announced $832,830 in grants for two new projects, one that empowers veterans, older Americans and others with disabilities to pursue or maintain careers in agriculture, and another to deliver farm safety education to youth seeking employment or already employed in agricultural production.

Nationwide’s Favorite Farmer Video Contest

Nationwide Insurance announced the new Favorite Farmer Video Contest which celebrates the hard work of farmers and highlights the importance of safety. The contest runs through April 15, 2017 and contestants are to create and submit a two-minute video showing their favorite farmer’s love for agriculture, advocacy for agriculture and committee to farm safety. Winners will be determined through on-line voting and a panel of judges. See website for details.
