4-H Summer Internship Position

Job Description - 4-H Summer Internship, Bucks County, PA
The 4-H Summer Intern will be responsible for:
- Organizing 4-H programs in specifically targeted areas of the county, including day camp and the Middletown Grange Fair.
- Recruiting, orienting and training teen leaders and other volunteers to assist in teaching 4-H projects.
- Teaching specific 4-H projects such as rocketry, plant science, gardening, and pet care, etc. to youth.
- Encourage 4-H members to participate in all aspects of the 4-H program, including day camp, overnight camp and 4-H Roundup.
- Assistant 4-H staff with overall 4-H programs including:
a. plan, organize, attend day camp and resident camp, 4-H Roundup
b. computer and form updates
c. participating in 4-H activities as needed
Qualifications: Completion of at least three years as a full
time college student. Must be an enrolled full time college student.
Enjoy working with youth and adults, be highly self-motivated and able
to work with limited supervision. Must be a team player that can work
with diverse youth and adults. Must have a car and a valid driver’s
license. Computer skills required. Prefer student with experience in
working with youth and background in education, youth development,
horticulture or science.
Benefits: Summer interns are covered by Workers Compensation
and liability insurance. Out of county travel and in county mileage
expenses are paid.
Employment Dates: May 14, 2012 – August 21, 2012
Full time or close to full time summer employment.
