The theme of the event is, “Keeping our rural heritage alive!” Attendees are invited to learn about small-scale livestock, visit with producers and watch demonstrations, and purchase fine crafted foods and gifts from local farmers.
Do you love fresh herbs in your favorite recipes? Are you tired of paying supermarket prices for those herbs? Come learn how easy it is to grow your own herbs, harvest them to use in your favorite recipes and preserve them for use during the winter months. You will learn the most commonly used herbs and suggestions for what herbs to use in what recipes. Each participant will receive a few herbs to take home: basal (pesto), parsley (pesto), oregano, sage, rosemary, thyme, tarragon, mint, chives and dill.
