ServSafe Certification course is offered by Penn State Extension-Berks County on a routine basis.
Exam Required – cost: $175
A 2½ day course qualifying inexperienced food handlers for ServSafe Certification. Must bring photo ID, attend all three sessions and pass exam. Lunches and snacks are included.
ServSafe Certification Renewal
ServSafe renewal is required every 5 years by passing the certifying exam. Classroom time is not mandated. Home study and proctored exam is $145. A ServSafe certificate or Pennsylvania Department of Ag Food Handlers License qualifies participants to take the exam every 5 years. Participants receive the latest edition of the ServSafe Essentials book and are invited to attend the presentation by the PDA inspector.
The ServSafe book and test are available in English, Chinese and Spanish.
