Recognize, Prevent and Solve Bed Bug Infestations using IPM
In this training, those who serve as social workers and community health / social workers will learn:
- Key information about bed bugs in order to effectively combat them
- How to inspect for and recognize bed bug presence
- What Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for bed bugs is
- What methods of control are effective (and which are not)
- How to communicate with your clients about bed bugs
- How to protect yourself from bed bugs on the job
- Tips for setting up agency-wide prevention protocols to avoid spreading bed bugs
- How to hire a bed bug-competent pest control company
Participants will receive informational flyers for their own and their clients’ information and a list of credible resources for bed bug information. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) information and identification for other common household pests will also be provided.
Time: 1.5 – 2.5 hrs (depending upon audience needs)
Cost: $200 hr plus $2 per person for handouts
