Penn State poultry faculty and other experts present advanced poultry topics and practical hands-on learning experiences. Held at the University Park Campus, it gives the youth and their leaders an opportunity to see the campus and Poultry Program up close and learn in a fun hands-on environment.
Youth Poultry 101 is not an adult Small Flock Program. It is intended for youth and leaders working with youth programs. It is designed as a next step for the older more advanced youth, and no youth under 12 years of age will be accepted. We have asked the presenters to include advanced topics in their presentations and plan to allow hands-on learning as much as possible.
Youth Poultry 101 is has a unique t-shirt design each year!
Sessions will be conducted by Penn State poultry faculty and other experts. The program covers the following areas:
- Disease concerns
- Preparing poultry for shows
