2013/2014 Master Gardener Training Class

Classes begin Tuesday, October 1 and continue until November 12. We break for the holidays and resume class on Tuesday, January 7. The training program ends on April 1, and the final exam is administered on April 8. The cost for the Penn State Master Gardener program is $200. This covers the cost of the Penn State Master Gardener manual, nametags, and speaker fees. The fee is payable once you have been accepted into the program and will be collected at the first class session on October 1.

An orientation meeting is scheduled for August 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the extension office. At this time we give an overview of the program and volunteer opportunities, administer the pre-test and conduct brief one-on-one interviews.

If you wish to apply for the program, please fill out the Master Gardener application (link below) and return by August 20 to Nancy Knauss, Penn State Extension of Allegheny County, 400 North Lexington Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15208. You will receive a letter reminding you of the orientation meeting.
