Allegheny County 4-H Shines at State Horse Show

Allegheny County 4-H participated in the annual 4-H State Horse show held from October 23-25, 2015 at the Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Out of the 700 participants, 21 Allegheny County 4-H members participated—15 members placed in the top 10, one in the Top 3, one in the Top 2, and two in First Place.

  • Congratulations to Caitlin E. Brannon for placing #1 in the Saddle Seat Equitation, Senior Rider!
  • Congratulations to Annie L. Messer for placing #1 in the Obstacle Trail, Maximum Assistance!
  • Congratulations to Caitlin E. Brannon for placing #2 in the Saddle Seat Pleasure, Trotting!
  • Congratulations to Madison A. Schultz for placing #3 in the Walk Trot Equitation, Minimum Assistance!

A special recognition is also in order to the 21 total 4-H members who participated in the annual State Horse Show: Sydney A. Ford, Morgan Geahry, Kyle Ford, Brianne Klick, Marissa Collins, Jessica Collins, Jessica L. Harby, Sarah E. Mee, Elizabeth S. Herald, Amanda Becker, Sierra Higby, Grace Reinsel, Abigail Wilson, Kayli Cannon, Savanah M. Barkley, Torrie Pond, Katrina Becker, and Sarah Offner.

Additional congratulations to our 4-H members for winning first place for District 11 in Overall Good Housekeeping and to the Northridge Riders for taking home first place in the Equine Educational Exhibit with No Horsing Around: The Fascinating Horse Eye. Each member, whether showing or not, demonstrate what is great about 4-H of Allegheny County and exemplify our motto, “To make the Best, Better.”
