Steve Repasky of Burgh Bees shows the inside of a bee hive to Frick Charter Environmental School first graders
Sixty students participated in hands-on sessions on honey bee culture and native pollinator plants. Staff from Burgh Bees and Penn State Extension provided opportunities for the kids to understand why honey bees and native pollinators are important in the production of our food supply. Burgh Bees, a non-profit, works in partnership with the Penn State Allegheny County Extension to promote bees and beekeeping along with stewardship of the environment.
