Air Quality - Nutrition & Ammonia Emissions
It is a critical time for county conservation districts, NRCS-, Extension, agencies, consultants and others to understand the implications of improving management of ammonia emissions from the farm. Ammonia is a precursor to particulate matter – a pollutant of concern to the US EPA – and increasing scrutiny is being placed on agricultural contributions of ammonia emissions. Speakers from this webinar include Alex Hristov, PSU Dairy and Animal Science, Paul Patterson, PSU Dairy and Animal Science, and Al Rotz, USDA Agricultural Research Service. This webinar was held March 18, 2009.
What is the impact of ammonia emissions from poultry operations on the environment? What dietary strategies can minimize ammonia emissions from poultry wastes? Are there regulations on poultry emissions?
