Conewago Watershed Tier 1 Priority Areas
Background
The Conewago was selected as part of the Chesapeake Bay TMDL (Total Maximum Daily Loads) Local WIP (Watershed Implementation Plan) Pilot Project to help achieve TMDL allocations in the area. Tetra Tech and the Project Advisory Team hope to help provide a local level plan to reduce nutrients and sediment to the Chesapeake Bay. They also plan to expand on the existing Restoration Plan for the Conewago Creek watershed. The team intends to prioritize stormwater BMPs and stream restoration on developed parcels, and they will also calculate the potential pollutant load reduction associated with prioritized projects.
