In addition, funders are requiring more outcome-based evaluations and results. In order to assist organizations with researching available funds, writing grants, and evaluating programs, a workshop on "Getting the Most from your Grant Writing Efforts" was held on April 10, 2014 at the Columbia County Ag Center. The program was presented by Economic & Community Development Extension Educators Neal Fogle and Liesel Dreisbach. Attendees included 20 participants representing non-profit organizations from various counties, as well as county and local municipal government.

The program not only covered who gives grants and why, but also how to find the right opportunities for grants, and how to build effective partnerships. The workshop also showed participants how to tell their story and show their strengths in a grant application. Methods for documenting outcomes and impacts were also included as part of the instruction.
