OMK - documents
In celebration of April’s Month of the Military Child, OMK is teaming up with the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #432 in Wheatland to look for creative, innovative military kids to submit artwork or poetry depicting the life of a military child. Submissions will be exhibited at the OMK Salute to the Military Child Family Fun Fair on April 6, 2014 at Penn State’s Snider Agricultural Arena. Selected entries also have the potential to be used in other OMK and Penn State Extension outlets.
We are excited to open registration for the Project Beacon Spring Retreats! This spring we are excited to offer two weekends, so that more campers have the opportunity to attend camp this year. Project Beacon is open to children of current service members and veterans ages 5-17. The weekends will be filled with fun, consisting of group games, a climbing wall and zip line, arts and crafts, paddle boats, fishing, archery and of course bonfires! This camp is open to children with or without disabilities/special needs. In each camp there will be 40 spots available for children of veterans (those eligible for a DD 214) and 20 spots available for children of currently serving service members not eligible for a DD 214 at this time. Project Beacon East – 11-13 April at Camp Victory in Millville, PA (Columbia Co.) Project Beacon West – 2-4 May at YMCA Camp Soles in Rockwood, PA (Somerset Co.)
