The purpose of the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents (NAE4-HA) Education Package Award is to recognize materials that educate through accurate, concise information (research based as applies) on one subject.  The Educational Package must consist of two or more components of the other possible Communicator awards given by NAE4-HA, such as video programs, exhibits, promotional materials, media presentations, and educational pieces.

Jennifer Fetter demonstrated her efforts in development of educational materials by submitting materials she developed to educate 4-H Youth and Volunteers about local water quality and watersheds as part of the new 4-H Stream Teams program in Pennsylvania. Jennifer writes "The purpose of this four part “4-H Stream Teams How To Guide Series” is to assist 4-H Stream Team adult and teen leaders in completing and enhancing components of their experiences with the new 4-H Stream Teams Program being piloted in central Pennsylvania. Each guide covers a topic related to watershed education as a portion of the overall program. There are two printed guides, also available in web format for use with text readers for the visually impaired, and two video guides which include closed captions for the hearing impaired. The printed and video guides are designed to complement each other, in that there is one guide and one video that help in completing Stream Studies of macroinvertebrates and there is one guide and one video that help to identify and obtain maps of a local watershed using community and technological resources. The pieces can be used together or as standalone components. The guides were designed in response to specific requests made by 4-H Stream Teams Leaders through online survey responses and discussion at program leadership team meetings. All four of the How To Guides can be obtained from the 4-H Stream Teams Coordinator or via the 4-H Stream Teams Website at: http://ecosystems.psu.edu/youth/4-h-stream-teams-information/how-to-guides/"

Jennifer Fetter was also recognized for her efforts at the state level during the Fall Pennsylvania Association of 4-H Extension Agents Meeting on November 15, 2012 in State College, PA.
