Certainly having a volunteer who has served for 50 years is a fantastic achievement but to have three volunteers reach 50 years is exceptional. Sandy Long, Barb Rebert and Galen Smith were honored at the recent Cumberland County 4-H Achievement Night held at Highland Vue Farms, Newville. All three long time 4-H members went directly from being a member to being a leader.
Everyone needs a break from the pressures and distractions of daily life, a time for refreshment and rejuvenation. Penn State Military Youth Program and Easter Seals of Western and Central PA joined forces for the third year in a row to bring Camp Military Kid Strong to 100 military youth. Military youth in various phases of the deployment cycle joined us for a 6 night, 7 day residential camp held at Camp Hebron in Dauphin County
Marshall Richardson, Indiana County 4-H member, has been named a special award winner at the state level by the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences 4-H Member Recognition Program. He was recognized in a ceremony recently at Penn State held during State 4-H Achievement Days as an “Outstanding 4-H Member”. He was one of three members recognized at the state level.
The PA 4-H Shooting Sports Team won the 3-position smallbore championship and the overall silver medal at the 3 day 2015 4-H Shooting Sports Invitational at Grand Island, Nebraska for the 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships. Members of the PA 4-H team that competed in the event included Ashlee Hobgood, Zach Nicolella, Anthony Schfianno, Kaylee Hobgood, Mackenzie Wagner and Grace Lengauer, Hunter Moore, and coaches Dave Duer, Jim Wagner, and Jim Husk.
The 2015 4-H Wildlife and Forestry Field Day, held at Rock Springs, PA on April 25, was a natural success! The Field Day allows 4-H youth from all over Pennsylvania to explore the wildlife and forestry sciences.
Natalie Aiello was recognized at the 2014 National Association of Extension 4-H Agents' awards banquet during the NAE4-HA Conference this past October. Natalie was awarded for her outstanding efforts with Penn State Extension 4-H Programming. The Achievement in Service Award is given to educators with three to seven years of exceptional service.
Deborah Dietrich was recognized at the 2014 National Association of Extension 4-H Agents' awards banquet during the NAE4-HA Conference this past October. Deborah was awarded for her outstanding efforts with Penn State Extension 4-H Programming. The 25 Years of Service Award is given to 4-H educators with 25 or more years of service.
Cameron Suorsa, Butler County 4-H member, was chosen as one of eight members of the National 4-H Congress Design Team. The Design Team is in charge of planning the program which is a prestigious national 4-H event.

Carol was awarded for her outstanding efforts with Penn State Extension 4-H Programming. The Excellence in Camping Award is given each year to recognize outstanding effort in youth development through 4-H camping, practice, evaluation, and research.
