2010 Farm City Day took place September 30th at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA. There were over 1000 youth in attendance that came to learn about agriculture and get a closer look at today's farming and how agriculture plays an important role in daily life.
On October 6, youth in Centre County joined hundreds of thousands of young people around the nation to simultaneously take part in a water quality experiment on the Penn State campus. As part of 4-H National Youth Science DayTM, youth participated in 4-H2O , the 2010 National Science Experiment. This year's experiment teaches youth the importance of water quality and conservation and helps them determine their own carbon footprints.
On Saturday June 5, State Council members Jeanette Blank and Justine Bush traveled to Fox Chase Farm in Philadelphia County for Farm to Table Day. There they had a display about Council and 4-H in general while also doing the "Home Grown Soap" activity (from Acres of Adventure) with the kids who came by.
