4-H Embryology School Enrichment Project

In 1976 the Adams County 4-H program piloted the 4-H Embryology school enrichment project in the Conewago Valley School District. Mr. Stanley Eyster and John H. Schwartz, Extension Agent worked to develop the curriculum and materials for students to learn about life and how it develops in a chicken egg. Mr. Eyster is demonstrating to his students the window cutting experiment. Through this experiment the youth were able to see the heart beating and watch the day to day growth and development in the windowed egg. A popular educational experience that provides "hands on" science today in over 50 classrooms in the county.
