York County Great Insect Fair

Posted: May 12, 2015

Everyone is invited to attend the first annual York County Great Insect Fair on July 11 from 10 am – 4 pm at the 4-H Center. You will learn and experience insects as you never have before! This is also an Opportunity for a Club to Make some Cash!

There will be a kids corner with tons of activities including an art corner, face painting, leaf rubbings, a worm tunnel to crawl through and much more. Adults & youth alike will want to attend to learn all about beneficial insects, pollinators, butterflies, bees and much more. A number of 4-H clubs will be attending from across the state as well as the Bug Man himself – our own Ryan Bridge. There will be experts and speakers and activities galore – you just won’t want to miss it. Best of all – it’s FREE!

And for any 4-H club that would like to make some money – we need someone to provide a food stand. The club will keep all the profits and you can determine the menu and set the prices. The time to cover is 10 am – 4 pm so a light breakfast with coffee & other drinks and then a lunch menu is what we are looking for. You will be using the kitchen in the 4-H Center. If you would like more information on the Insect Fair, please contact Tom Smith at or call him at 840-7408. If your club would like to provide the food stand, please contact Mary Jo at 840-7506 or
