This is a make-up training if you missed the training at our York County 4-H Horse Member Gathering. We will review this year's three Quality Animal Management Practices.
This event is open to York County 4-H members. We are offering one project Saturday in 2016 to start with. If we have interest and a good turnout we will offer a second date in June. Registration is required and due by May 6th. Each member should bring $5.00 to cover lunch and any additional fees needed to complete your project.
Clinician Jayme Myers, a WPRA Barrel Racing champion, will focus on the fundamentals of barrel racing as well as horsemanship and patterns. All current 4-H horse members (age 8-18) in 4-H Horse District 6 (Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry and York Counties) are welcome to attend.
4-H Equine & Livestock Science Camp is a hands-on, science-focused residential camp for 4-H members who are enrolled in an animal science project and who were between the ages of 13 and 18 as of January 1, 2016. Screened 4-H volunteers or Extension staff are welcome to register as chaperones for this event, as workshop content will be of interest to adults as well as youth.
A day camp held Saturday, May 21st for all York County youth ages 8-12 to learn more about animals.
The 4-H Hunt Seat Clinic will focus on tuning up over fences for the upcoming show season. This clinic is open to current York County 4-H members only.
4-H Horse Camp is designed to give the beginner and the experienced equestrian a chance to learn by doing. Participants will have two small-group-instruction riding sessions per day. There will be horse science clinics/demonstrations, horse games, plus work on horsemanship skills.
Can you survive four days of science? All York County youth ages 8-12 are invited to attend our Survivor Day Camp!
4-H members enrolled in textile science projects are invited to participate in the Capital Region 4-H Fashion & Textile Revue. Guests are invited to attend free of charge. A short program will be offered for guests to attend while participants complete the afternoon workshops. Note that the Textile Revue is new in 2016!
Everyone is invited to attend the 2nd annual York County Great Insect Fair at the York County 4-H Center. You will learn and experience insects as you never have before!

4-H State Achievement Days is an educational three-day program for 4-H members (ages 13-18), sponsored each year by Penn State Extension. This annual event is held to demonstrate achievement of 4-H members and provide recognition of their accomplishments in competitive as well as non-competitive events.

The York County 4-H Fair will be held August 13-14, 2016 at the York County 4-H Center. Admission and parking are free. The York County 4-H Fair is open to the public.
Held during Ag Progress Days, teams of four will compete in a series of head-to-head elimination matches. Teams will be asked questions and awarded for correct answers. There are two age divisions - junior (ages 8-12) and senior (13-18). Any youth with equine interest can participate.
