Large Crowd Attends 4-H Centennial Picnic
Posted: September 25, 2012
Over 350 came together to reminisce about their 4-H memories as Westmoreland County celebrated the 100th year of 4-H in PA. The 4-H community from the past, present and future had an old-fashioned picnic with food, games and a cake contest, plus much more. There were club displays and pictures from as far back as 1914 as well as current ones. Carol Schurman, 4-H Extension Educator, shared her display of 4-H Memorabilia which covered 3 tables. Rachel Hunker came the furthest from Australia, while Deegan at 4 months was the youngest future 4-H'er and Richard Koontz at 87 years was the oldest 4-H'er to attend. A great time was had by all!
