PA 4-H is now a certifying organization to receive acknowledgement from the President of the United States for dedication of volunteer service.
Washington County 4-H County Council hosted the 4-H Royal Leaders Banquet to honor the 182 4-H Leaders in Washington County on November 6, 2015. County Council presented 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 35 years of service to 4-H Leaders. The 2015 4-H County Award Winners were also presented at the Leaders’ Appreciation Banquet along with club scrapbook winners.
Three Events held at the same time and place. This years State Leadership Conference for teens held over the weekend of January 22-24, will also provide a one-day-only experience for Juniors. Also, it will be held at the same time and place as State Leader Forum, for Volunteer Leaders.
The National 4-H Science Day took place at Washington 4-H County Council meeting on Monday, October 5, 2015.
4-H Youth Members attended 4-H Horse Camp July 12-15, 2015 at the Westmoreland Fairgrounds. Youth received horse riding instruction and learned leadership skills.
The PA 4-H Shooting Sports Team won the 3-position smallbore championship and the overall silver medal at the 3 day 2015 4-H Shooting Sports Invitational at Grand Island, Nebraska for the 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships. Members of the PA 4-H team that competed in the event included Ashlee Hobgood, Zach Nicolella, Anthony Schfianno, Kaylee Hobgood, Mackenzie Wagner and Grace Lengauer, Hunter Moore, and coaches Dave Duer, Jim Wagner, and Jim Husk.
The county awards were presented at the Leaders' Appreciation Dinner on November 7, 2014. This years theme was 4-H "Leaders are Super Heroes!" The following is the list of 2014 County Award winners.
4-H Day camp was held on July 9, 2014 at Washington Park. We had 56 4-H members and 18 Counselors.
Washington County sent 8 Counselors and 12 4-H members to the SW Regional 4-H Camp.
4-H members are given an opportunity to improve their public speaking skills and demonstration skills at the 4-H County Activity Night held on Monday, June 9th at 6:00 p.m.

The Washington County 4-H Officer Training took place on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Courthouse Square Building room 103 and 104.
Washington County 4-H Social Dinner Dance was held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the 4-H Junior Building at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
Local youth were among 88 4-H'ers from 38 counties across the state who met in Harrisburg recently for the annual Pennsylvania 4-H Capital Days program. Capital Days is a citizenship-awareness and civic-engagement educational program held by Pennsylvania 4-H. Attending from Washington County were TJ Vercek , Susie Jones, Christina Motichak, Isaac Jones, Timothy Solobay, and Brendin McCullough. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the event.
The Washington County 4-H Clubs collected 5,857 pounds of food or over 5 tons of food and supplies for the Washington County Food Bank.
A Proclamation was issued by the Washington County Commissioners on March 20, 2014, that the week of March 16 - 22 is Pennsylvania 4-H Week in Washington County.
SLC was held on January 17-19 at the Penn Stater Conference Center. This year's theme was "Leadership Makes You A Hero".

South Pike Pioneers had their year end meeting and dinner on November 18, 2013. Pam Palletta, 4-H Penn State Educator, was the guest speaker for the night. Pam taught 8 Essential Elements to the group. Out going organizational leader Jodi Gatts, presented certificates and gifts to the members and leaders. The club also presented Jodie with a gift for all her years of service. Thank you Jodi for all your hard work.
