Youth Poultry 101
April 3, 2014The program is designed for all youth 12 years of age and older and adults who enjoy teaching youth about poultry. Any youth interested in poultry is welcome (FFA Members, 4-H members and youth 12-18 that are not members of any youth program are welcome). This is NOT an Adult Small Flock Program
Keystone Goat Producers to offer equipment scholarship to junior members
April 3, 2014The Keystone Goat Producers Association (KGPA) will be offering an equipment scholarship to junior members of the KGPA. The KGPA Board of Directors has voted to double the size of this scholarship! In 2014, two (2) individual scholarships will be offered, one being a goat stand, the other being a blower. All interested applicants need their parents’ permission and must send in the completed form and a short essay.

Tioga County Youth Field Day
April 2, 2014Registration for the Tioga County Youth Field Day is now open and available on the Pennsylvania Game Commission website. The event is Saturday, August 16th at the Ives Run Recreation Area. Registration is limited. (This is not an Extension event. You must register via the Game Commission site, or call the number listed below).

4-H Companion Animal Photo and Video Contest
September 17, 2014The Companion Animal Community of Practice through eXtension.org is pleased to announce that it is holding photo and video contest for youth interested in companion animals. At the link below, you can find general information about the contests as well as links to the specific rules/guidelines and a printable flyer you can use to promote the contests within your area. We would like to get large national participation in the contests.

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Program for 4-Hers
September 3, 2014WASHINGTON, D.C. – Over the past 19 years, Prudential Spirit of Community Awards have been given to more than 100,000 middle and high school students across the country for helping the less fortunate, promoting health and safety, protecting the environment, and serving their communities through many other volunteer activities. Today, the search begins to identify thousands more who have made meaningful contributions to their communities over the past 12 months, as the awards program kicks off its 20th year. These awards, sponsored by Prudential Financial, Inc. in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), honor outstanding community service by students in grades 5 through 12 at the local, state and national level.
August 13, 2014Pennsylvania was one of 12 state teams that competed in the 35th annual National 4-H Forestry Invitational from Sunday, July 27, through Thursday, July 31. Teams from Alabama, New York, and Georgia placed first, second, and third respectively. Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Virginia were also represented at this year’s Invitational.
Lebanon County 4-H Club Sends Rabbits to Haiti
July 30, 2014The Rags to Rabbits 4-H Club in Lebanon County has a Haitian connection. This year a 15 year old youth currently serving with his family as missionaries in Haiti enrolled in the Lebanon County 4-H Club to learn more about rabbits.
