Six members from Snyder County 4-H competed in the PA 4-H State Horse show.
The East Central District Dairy Show was held on Wednesday, July 9 at 9:30 am at the Montour DeLong Fairgrounds, Washingtonville, PA.
The Central Susquehanna Counties' 4-H Program held their second annual Shooting Sports Competition on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Montour DeLong Fairgrounds near Washingtonville.
It's that time of year to identify Farm Safety & Health Quiz Bowl members. Preliminary rounds are held at Ag Progress Days, August 13, 2014. The final round will be held at Farm Show on January 14, 2015. 4-H team members must be in the 9th to 12th grades as of August 1 in the competition year, and be registered 4-H club members from a single county.
4-H State Achievement Days is an educational three-day program for 4-H members (ages 13-18), sponsored by Penn State Extension. This annual event is held to demonstrate achievement of 4-H members and provide recognition of their accomplishments in competitive as well as non-competitive events.
Want to show off your presentation skills, or just want to practice your public speaking; Why not sign up to participate during County Presentation Night. Cash premiums will be awarded along with merit ribbons. Categories include 4-H promotion, broadcasting, commercial, cloverbud recitation, demonstration, dramatic presentation, illustrated talk, interpretive reading, presentation software, public speaking and video production.
Snyder County 4-H youth will participate in one of two training's regarding Good Production Practices for Animals. Training dates are May 22 and June 10. The 4-H Counties of Columbia, Montour and Northumberland invite all 4-H Shooting Sports members to attend the 2nd Annual CSC 4-H Shooting Sports Competition! The event will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Montour DeLong Fairgrounds.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Farm Service Agency (FSA) makes operating loans of up to$5,000 to eligible individual rural youths age 10 through 20 to finance income producing, agriculture-related projects. The project must be of modest size, educational, and initiated, developed and carried out by rural youths participating in 4-H clubs, FFA, or a similar organization.
