4-H Educators Attend Pike County Interagency Council Meeting

Posted: July 19, 2012

4-H Educators Deborah Albrecht and Debra Brodhecker met recently with the Pike County Interagency Council to share information about the 4-H youth program for children age 5-19.

4-H members learn by doing and so did the Interagency Council members who created “Worry Dolls” to be included in Hero Packs. The Hero Pack is a backpack with school supplies and communication materials so children can keep in touch with their parents. The packs also have some fun items like baseballs, sunglasses, and books. The hero packs are a way to hand-deliver a salute to military children and youth for their strength and sacrifices while parents are deployed.

The Pike County Interagency Council promotes networking and education among the human service organizations of Pike County. For more information visit their website
