This summer camp will focus on wildlife and nature and here at the Penn State Extension - Dauphin County Office we have wildlife to see and places to explore. We will learn to use compasses, binoculars, identify trees and plants in the forest as well as learning to identify the signs of wildlife. Campers will make and keep a nature journal to chronicle their time and document their experiences. Wildlife is amazing and once you learn to see the wildlife all around you, then you will always be ready for a wild adventure.
This camp our 4-H Staff and Penn State Extension Master Gardeners will guide campers through this three day camp, they will learn about Our Flying Friends while installing a 4-H Butterfly, Moth, and Hummingbird Garden at the Dauphin County Agriculture & Natural Resources Center. There will also be games, crafts, and more hands-on activities.
Experience 4-H for the summer, Dauphin County 4-H will be offering several day camps for students ages 6 - 12. Come and join us for this summer camp program and learn skills that will last a lifetime.
Don't miss out on this exciting overnight camp! Add these dates to your calendar! Attention all children that enjoy camping and the great outdoors! Our 2013 4-H Overnight Camp will be held June 29 - July 2, 2013 at Camp Eder near Fairfield, in Adams County. 4-H Members from Adams, Cumberland, Franklin, & York Counties will also be attending. In Junk Drawer Robotics, campers will learn the science behind how things work. Using everyday objects, our campers will work collaboratively on a team learning about friction and design while building their own “Air, Water, & Road Crafts.” The camp will end when our teams line up their “Crafts” in the ultimate race. It will be three fun filled days of experiments and challenges.
This summer camp will focus on the art of Pet Care whether you have a goldfish, dog, cat, horse, chicken, or cavy. We want to help you become the best Pet Care Taker you can be. If you don't have the pet of your dreams this camp will help you learn tools for that future family member.
During the Technology Arts Camp, campers will make their very own stop-motion film, audio program, and record a public service announcement. Campers will record a DVD of their own to take home and share with all their friends family.
Come and enjoy Dauphin County's 4-H Fair. It will four days filled with fun.
In the kitchen everyone shares the tasty success of learning to bake and cook at 4-H Food Science Summer Day Camp. Campers will get hands on experience in the kitchen making tasty treats, preparing healthy meals, and performing hands on kitchen science experiments. This camp is fun for all and campers will be able to share their newly acquired tasty and fun life skills with the whole family.
