CSC 4-H Camp Brule
Posted: August 13, 2012
Twenty-three Northumberland County 4-H members and one leader attended the 2012 CSC 4-H Camp Brule which was held from June 25-29. A great time was had by all! Even though the counselor-selected theme for Camp Week was "Natural Distasters", the entire group was luck enough to have a beautiful week with only one storm to speak of - and that was the last night of camp! The 24 representatives from the county were among the nearly 160 in attendance at camp.
Campers participated in a variety of activities throughout the week including team challenge events (relays, etc.) and nightly Camp Fires. Campers attended daily workshops that included Leather Craft, Rocketry, Emergency Preparedness, 4-H Centennial Fun, Wildlife and Nature, Shooting Sports and Recycled crafts (to name a few).
Those who attended from Northumberland County were: Alley Bassett, Kate Bassett, Lizzy Bassett, Sarah Bassett, David Brittingham, Faith Candelora, Katie Faust, Anastasia Ferdock, Branden Ferdock, Christina Ferdock, Tommy Kovaschetz, Rhiannon McKinney, Victoria Nicola, Hailey Nungesser, Harry Nungesser, Ashley Persing, Carmine Picarelli, Gianna Picarelli, Zach Raker, Amber Rarig, Tara Reed, Aubrey Shultz, and Seth Shultz. Jackie Schroeder attended as a Volunteer Staff Member.
CSC 4-H Camp is held annually at Camp Brule in Estella, Sullivan County. It is planned and staffed by Extension 4-H Staff and Volunteers from Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder and Union Counties. If you are interested in learning more about Camp Brule, please ask any of the above members or contact Sam Nicola!
