County 4-H'ers at Regional Production and District V Horse Show

Northumberland County was represented by Horse Project Members from the Backwoodsmen and Saddle Starz 4-H Clubs at both the Regional 4-H Production Show (held in Williamsport on August 1, 2012) and the District V 4-H Performance Horse Show (held in Centre Hall on August 18).
Juliana Hansen, of the Backwoodsmen 4-H Club, competed at the Production and won first place with her horse, She’s A Hollister Girl, in Warmblood: Three-year-Old Fillies and English Pleasure: Futurity and with her pony Snickerdoodle in Hunter Type Pony: Two-Year-Old Fillies. Juliana qualified for and will compete at the State 4-H Horse Show at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg during the weekend of October 26-28, 2012.
At the District V Performance Horse Show, Northumberland County was represented by 18 members. From the Backwoodsmen: Kate Bassett, Lizzy Bassett, Mariah Beaver, Rachel Billig, Tara Blom, Haley Fetterolf, Emily Kate Greco, Raegan Jones, Emily Michael, Hailey Michael, Victoria Nicola, Amber Rarig, Cassidy Roadarmel, and Madison Willoughby; From the Saddle Starz: Faith Candelora, Katie Faust, Nina Ginitz, and Jacquline Mills.
Those who qualified for the State Horse Show from the Performance Show (had to be, typically, one of the top two finishers), are: Mariah Beaver, riding Chocolate Truffles, in class 42 (Working Hunter Horses); Nina Ginitz, riding Zipotoes Image, in class 52 (Obstacle Trail, Minimum Assistance); Emily Michael, riding Duncan Hill, in class 35 (Classic Hunter Under Saddle Horses, Jr.); Hailey Michael, riding Lonesome Nina, in classes 6 (Open Trail Horses, Jr.) and 37 (Breed Type Hunter Under Saddle Horses, Jr.); and Madison Willoughby, riding Spicy Lil Gingersnap (Ginger), in class 27 (Saddle Seat Pleasure, Trotting).
