Northumberland County To Be Well Represented at State 4-H Horse Show

Northumberland County 4-H will have 9 members competing at the State 4-H Horse Show this fall. Lizzy Bassett and Juliana Hansen, both of the Backwoodsmen 4-H Club, qualified for the State 4-H Horse Show in the Regional Production Show, which was held in Williamsport on August 3.
Twenty-four Northumberland County 4-H Horse Club members from the Backwoodsmen and Saddle Starz 4-H Clubs qualified and competed at the District V 4-H Horse Show. At the show, which was held on Saturday, August 20 at the Centre County Grange Fairground, 8 of the 24 riders from Northumberland County qualified for the State 4-H Horse Show to be held October 28-30, 2011 at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg. Those who qualified for the State Show were:
Amber Rarig (Backwoodsmen) - Western Grooming & Showmanship, Sr.
Hailey Michael (Backwoodsmen) - Breed Type Hunter Under Saddle Horses, Jr.
Kate Bassett (Backwoodsmen) - Draft Horse Driving
Emily Michael (Backwoodsmen) - Saddle Seat Pleasure, Trotting AND Saddle Set Equitation, Jr.
Emily Kate Greco (Backwoodsmen) - Hunter Seat Equitation (on the flat), Sr.
Katie Faust (Saddle Starz) - Hunter Seat Equitation (on the flat), Jr.
Juliana Hansen (Backwoodsmen) - Hunter Under Saddle Ponies (13 hands & under)
Nina Ginitz (Saddle Starz) - Walk-Trot Equitation, Minimum Assistance
