Backwoodsmen 4-H Club
The Backwoodsmen 4-H Club offers a wide variety of projects including: Air Pistol, Air Rifle, Cake Decorating, Cloverbuds (for members 5-7 years old), Horse Science, Knitting, Leadership, Photography, Rabbit, Rocketry, and Scrapbooking. The club holds business meetings four times per year and project meetings are held once or twice per month. They collect no dues, but hold an Annual Open Horse Show as their main fundraiser. In addtion, the members conduct and participate in a Rock-A-Thon to raise money for a charity. Other activities throughout the year include bowling, ice skating, swimming, caroling, roadside clean-up, and a Club Awards Night. The Backwoodsmen 4-H Club projects and activities combine learning, fun and community service.
This club is based in the Rush Township Area of Northumberland County and includes surrounding areas such as Riverside/Danville, Elysburg, Paxinos, Sunbury, and Shamokin. Any youth age 5-18 is welcome to join, regardless of where you live.
