Montgomery County 4-H Poultry Club Member Wins Class Championship

17-year-old Joshua Cassar recently attended the Crossroads of America Poultry Show in Indianapolis, IN over the Halloween weekend.

The Crossroads of America Poultry Show in Indianapolis, IN is considered the national championship of poultry shows and only occurs every 7 years. Competing in the Junior Division (18 and under), Joshua Cassar showed a Single Comb Light Brown Leghorn hen which won the Mediterranean Class Championship. Joshua also competed in the Senior Showmanship Competition, where he place 2nd in the nation.
Joshua said, “This is one of the highlights of my poultry career to date and I look forward to competing again in 7 years as an adult.”
