2013 Spring 4-H Babysitting Class #2

Do you wish you could babysit? Do you watch a younger brother or sister after school while your parents work? Or perhaps you would just like to be a better babysitter.

Why not consider taking the 4-H Babysitting Course?

The 4-H Babysitting Course is designed to help prepare young teens to babysit their siblings and other youngsters safely and to deal with any emergencies that may come up while babysitting or even while staying home alone.

The following topics will be covered:

• babysitter's responsibilities
• child development and appropriate toys for child’s age
• feeding
• diapering
• infant care
• what to do in the event of an emergency
• sitter safety

Those who successfully complete the course will receive a 4-H completion certificate. In order to successfully complete the course, you must attend all sessions. Information presented in each session is no less important in one than another. You must also show maturity and readiness to baby-sit. 4-H believes that babysitting is serious business!

Class size is limited for maximum educational value and attendees must be 11 years of age before the course begins in order to participate.   
Fee is $25 per student.

April 9 - May 7,  Tuesday evenings 7:00 PM to 8:30PM

All registration for these classes will be taken by the Penn State Extension’s 4-H Office.
