4-H Alpacateers Alpaca Club
The Alpacateers explore the world of alpacas. From January to December, the club meets the second Sunday of the month at Little Lost Creek Alpaca Farm (Upper Salford) from 2-4 p.m. Each meeting entails working with the alpacas on our agility course, doing barn chores and learning about fiber. In the course of the year, they will learn to spin, dye, wet and dry felt and weave.
Throughout the year there are at least three opportunities to compete against other youngsters in agility competitions. They can also make use of their fiber knowledge to fund raise for the club and to enter projects in the 4-H Fair. In addition, each child is required to complete a record book, which exposes them to the history and qualities of alpacas, as well as provides a diary of their year in the club.
Please contact our office at 610-489-4315 for leader contact information and our office staff will put you in touch with the club leader. The club leader will let you know when the next meeting is being held and give you more detailed information on club activities and events. When you attend the meeting and make the decision to join the club, the club leader will have all the necessary information for you to join 4-H.
