PA 4-H is now a certifying organization to receive acknowledgement from the President of the United States for dedication of volunteer service.
The first meeting of the McKean Teen Leadership (County Council) Club was held October 21. Members set up the 4-H Center for the upcoming Treasures of 4-H open house October 24-25.
The McKean County 4-H Clubs held their annual Achievement Awards program at the Smethport Fire Hall. Club members and volunteers were recognized for their achievements during the 2014-2015 program year.
Ed Althouse's apple, peach, and pear pie was the top seller this year, earning $400 in the annual pie auction to benefit the 4-H program and help with repairs to our 4-H Center. This year, 16 pies raised more than $2,700 total. Thanks to our bakers and bidders, the pie auction was a rousing success.
Two 4-H day camps were offered in McKean County. Map your World was held at the Donald J. Comes Natural Resources Learning Center in Crosby on July 13 from 9:00-3:00. Healthy Kids & Careers was held at the DJCNR Learning Center in Crosby on July 20 and at Callahan Park in Bradford on July 31, both sessions were from 9:00-3:00.

24 riders received instruction in showmanship, beginning riding, western riding, gaming, hunt seat, and jumping.
