District Dairy 4-H Day Camp was held Wednesday, July 8th at the Venango County Fairgrounds. There were 21 youth who participated in the event 10 of which were from Crawford County. Dairy 4-H members from Crawford, Venango, and Warren counties attended. They walked on the yellow brick road to "Cows, Calves, & Heifers - Oh My" as they spent the day doing fun-filled dairy activities and workshops.

The day camp provided fun, friendships, and networks for 4-H members of all ages while learning to practice the knowledge that is shared by adults in the dairy industry. Educational topics included clipping, showmanship, picking an animal, farm safe, advertising your farm, public relations in the dairy industry, agricultural management, careers, nutrition, and scoring/classification. Five dairy calves spent the day at camp for members to participate in hands on workshops.

Additionally, the Penn State PTO simulator and tractor roll-over demonstration were featured.  Members used I-pads throughout the day to participate in a scavenger hunt and ended the day by making a video on the day camp to promote dairy 4-H.
