Our Clubs

Below is a list of the current Berks County 4-H Clubs. If you would like to join one of these clubs, contact the leader and request information and inquire about attending their next club meeting.

Berks K-9’s 4-H Dog Club

Meets at the Ruscombmanor Fire Company (October – April)
Meets at the Trinity Bible Church, Blandon (May – September)
Meetings are on Monday evenings at 6:00 p.m.

Leader: Linda Madeira (610-944-0703)

  • Learn about dog care and training.

Berks Co. 4-H Rabbit & Cavy Club

Meets at the Berks County Ag Center or Berks County 4-H Center
Meetings are 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:45 p.m.

Leader: Liz Henry (484-624-9999)

  • Learn how to raise, breed and exhibit rabbits and cavies (guinea pigs).
  • Participate in club activities and the local fairs where you can show off your animal fhandling skills, compete for ribbons and exhibit animals.

4-H Marksmen 4-H Club

Meets at the Berks County 4-H Center
Meetings are every other Wednesday evening (not in July and August) 7:00 p.m.

Leader: Dean Hartman (610-678-2014)

  • Learn the how to safely shoot air rifle, air pistol and bow and arrow.
  • Participate in club activities and field trips.

4-H Robotics Club

Meets at the Berks County 4-H Center, Monday evenings 6:30 p.m.
Leader: Matthew Werley (610-378-1327)

  • Learn and experience the Engineering Design Process and the use of robots in everyday life.
  • Participate in hands-on robot and engineering activities.
  • Participate in club activities and field trips.

4-H Gardening Club

Meets at the Berks County Ag Center or Berks County 4-H Center
Meetings are held in Autumn/Winter (monthly) Spring (bi-monthly) Summer (Weekly)
Meetings are Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m.

Leader: Matthew Werley (610-378-1327)

  • Learn about the science of growing plants.
  • Learn how to grow plants for food.
  • Participate in club activities and field trips and local fairs.

Berks Co. 4-H Sheep & Lamb Club

Meets at the Berks County Ag Center or Berks County 4-H Center
Meetings are 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

Leader: Roger Bowman (610-562-4875)

  • Learn about and raise market lambs and breeding sheep.
  • Participate in club activities and the local county fairs, where you can show off your animal handling skills, compete for ribbons with breeding animals, and exhibit and sell market lambs.

Berks Co. 4-H Goat Club

Meets at the Berks County 4-H Center
Meetings are 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.

Leader: Jennifer Hartman (610-751-8031)

  • Learn about and raise meat and dairy goats.
  • Participate in club activities and the local county fairs, where you can show off your animal handling skills, compete for ribbons with breeding animals, and exhibit and sell market goats.

Berks Co. 4-H Swine Club

Meets at the Berks County Ag Center or Berks County 4-H Center
Meetings are 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

  • Learn about and raise market swine.
  • Participate in club activities and the local county fairs, where you can show off your animal handling skills, compete for ribbons and exhibit and sell market hogs.

Berks Co. 4-H Dairy Beef

Meets at the Berks County Ag Center or Berks County 4-H Center
Meetings are 1st Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

  • Learn about and raise market dairy beef.
  • Participate in club activities and the local fairs where you can show off your animal handling skills, compete for ribbons, exhibit and sell dairy beef calves.

Berks Co. 4-H Beef Club

Meets at the Berks County 4-H Center
Meetings are 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

  • Learn about and raise market steers and breeding heifers.
  • Participate in club activities and the local county fairs, where you can show off your animal handling skills, compete for ribbons with breeding animals, and exhibit and sell market steers.

Bethel 4-H Club

Meets the third Thursday of each month at the Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, Rehrersburg

  • Learn how to sew.
  • Learn about nutrition and practice basic cooking skills.
  • Create outfits for county, regional and state 4-H Fashion Revue contests.

4-H Clovers Club

Meets at the Salem E. C. Church, Lenhartsville
Meetings are Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m.

  • Learn to sew garments and home fashions.
  • Create outfits for county, regional and state 4-H Fashion Revue contests.

Leesport 4-H Club

Meets at club leader’s home
Meetings are Saturday mornings from February through June at 9:00 a.m.

Material Girls 4-H Club

Meets at club leader’s home
Meetings are Sunday evenings at 6:30 p.m.

Eastern Berks 4-H Dairy Club

Meets at the Oley Legion Hall
Meetings are on Friday evenings at 7:00 p.m.

Rocky Mountain Riders 4-H
