4-H State Council “Catches Fire"

The 2013-2014 Pennsylvania 4-H State Council has been “Catching Fire” as their year of service began at 4-H State days at Penn State University during August 6, 7, and 8. This year’s 4-H State Council is comprised of twelve 4-H “sparks” whose energy was kindled at 4-H State Days. They are: Alexandra Adams from Delaware County, Amber Pound from Franklin County; Brendin Freeman from Schuylkill County; Divya Reitz from Lycoming County; Dylan Levan from Columbia County; Jesse Isenberg from Indiana County; Kaitlin Rogers from Centre County; Lydia Lion from Chester County; Megan Anderson from Bedford County; Nathan Repetz from Cumberland County; Sophie Hutchinson from Venango County; and Wyett Johnson from Perry County.
Pennsylvania Team Earns Top Honors at National 4-H Forestry Invitational

Pennsylvania placed first among 13 state teams that competed in the 34th annual National 4-H Forestry Invitational from Sunday, July 21, through Thursday, July 25. Teams from Alabama and New York placed second and third, respectively.

So, summer fun, the weekend, and plans with friends on a beautiful day after a long hard week are finally here! You’re traveling down the back country road on your way to your friend’s house for a relaxing cook-out. What a great way to spend the cool, summer night. Your windows are down, your favorite song is playing, and you couldn’t be happier; but, all of the sudden, you find yourself stuck in a parade of cars slowly creeping along at 12 m.p.h.
